I think honestly the issue here is accountability. Op is already unable to deal with the life she. Realistically thou? They are trespassing on your privacy. But Chinese…culture is so different that we often don't see things like that. Even if we do, we will not say that to our parents, because they are the elders.

Although, now that I'm married to an American man, I kind of get the whole 'needing privacy' bit and I got to say, I don't know if I can live with my parents for 6 months straight. Your parents prefer to enable your brother in order to “keep the peace” in the family, while also doing the opposite by ignoring your concerns and preferences. They can't have it both ways.
Since it is their house they can call the shots with who stays over, and I think you renting a place from your friend while he's in town is the best decision. You've already been clear with your mom with your issues with your brother and your intentions with the holidays, and she's hoping you'll reconsider to continue to “keep the peace.” It's your call whether you want to do that, but YOU won't be the one causing the peace to be disrupted by deciding to stay elsewhere for the holidays. Your brother and parents did when they discounted your feelings.
I'd recommend sticking to the plan you had already, and don't be vague but be firm with your mom on what your plans are.
