He does this because he gets away with it. Every time someone is “nice” about his behavior it reinforces that he can do it without consequences. It’s like a toddler with a temper tantrum – if you give in and smooth things over, that toddler will keep having tantrums because the bad behavior was encouraged and reinforces. If a toddler is ignore during a temper tantrum they quickly learn that there’s no point and they don’t continue behaving this way.
I’ve travelled with his friends before, I know what it’s like. I’m happy to go anywhere else with them. I just want to go to this place and do it the way I want to and with someone who also has never been.
