Well since it keeps eating at you it's better to give it a chance. You are obviously emotionally invested in her so let's be honest you aren't finding yourself any other partner any time soon. She is also probably emotionally invested in you, whether it is also emotional interest we don't know.

I don’t think this is necessarily an issue based on what you’ve said here, but that book “The Gift of Fear” is a good one to recognize red flags, controlling behavior, gaslighting, and abuse patterns.
Creepy behavior is defined as giving unwelcome attention, so if you don’t do that, you are not a creep. You cannot choose your feelings only what you do with them. Then there is an age gap, but as long as both consenting adults are of a legal age, there is no problem. You have one shot at it to ask him out. If he turns you down, you shall stop right there.
