Sounds like a pretty sticky situation. I’ll be honest, her parents suck, but this may be their culture. Is your gf in college or has she graduated and started her career? Is it feasible to move out in the near future? If it were me, I’d obey the parents for now. I’d work on getting myself together financially so I could ultimately be set free from the parents’ control. Is she close with the parents? Sounds like she’s going to have to pick how she wants to on-line her life, some choices will need to be made ultimately, and one party or another may not be happy (whether that’s her, the parents, or her partner). OP, have a discussion with her and consider if this is a person and a family you see yourself with long term. When you choose a partner you also choose their family by default.
