Ooh you sound like a people-pleaser.
Fun thing about people-pleasers is that you attend to attract users. Some folks just seek out friends who will give and give and ask for nothing in return. Sometimes, if you stop giving, or if you start asking for things in return, those people disappear. And that’s how you know they’re not real friends.
Let’s say you stop reaching out to people and your worst fear comes true — you never hear from any of them. You haven’t lost friends, because you never had any; you’ve just learned the truth about the dynamic that underpinned those relationships.
It’s a huge cliché, but “If you love something, let it go” is also really good advice. People who want to be in your life will stay there of their own volition. They’ll text you first. They’ll make plans. They’ll invite you to things.
I’m not saying stop talking to everyone completely, because maintaining relationships is a two-way street, just… dial it back. Start observing your friendships to see who’s actively bringing something to your life.
I mean it’s not something she’s into which isn’t something you can just decide to change and because of that you are exuding a negative emotion her way. If this is something you NEED in a relationship I’m not saying that’s wrong but find someone who is ok with it/ wants to do it and if it’s not something you NEED in a relationship then get over it and move on and don’t push it.
she actually asked me to be her friend and said she wanted to help me feel like I had someone on my team. nice try with the victim blaming though.
Doesn’t matter if your married or not. You have no say on what she decides to wear. You can accept it or leave. Those are your options. Hopefully you aren’t like this with other parts of your relationship, as you are coming of as very controlling.
Lol being single rules is funny. I think living alone rules. Being single is fine. Having space when you want it rules, trying to convince yourself that being alone rules is weird xD I’ve never had any issues when I was single like it was great because I’m an introvert and I recharge by being alone but never in my right mind would I say “it rules” it only rules when your relationship is trash or toxic. Then yeah anything will will be good just my two cents
It sounds like you have caregiver fatigue. Are you in therapy? Can you hire some help? Have you actually done anything to try and alleviate this situation for yourself before jumping to leaving her and breaking your marriage vows?
I don’t really have any advice, but we’ve all heard that statistics of how many men leave their wives when they get sick – so much it’s a trope at this point. You knew she was sick when y’all got married. Personally, I would think less of and distance myself from a friend who left their sick wife, but you do what’s right for you.
I just hope you fully understand the repercussions of your decision. I suggest you get help with caregiving, get therapy, then revisit this convo with a clearer mind.
Yes and the start of the 14 week is the second trimester.
So she could be 13 weeks and 6 Days and she’s still be first trimester. Once she hits 14 weeks exactly, that’s when she’s in the second trimester.
Yeah but I don't want to tolerate this inconsistent behaviour.
I have anxiety issues due to my previous relationship.
So I told him we stop texting completely, just call me whenever you feel like talking. Don't know if I did the right thing but whatever better than inconsistency.
Yep!!
If I get in a car wreck and am temporarily incapacitated, my wife has the right to medical power of attorney by default. Without marriage, she’d have to legally fight my crazy-ass mother, and likely lose, for any voice in my medical care, which is not a situation I want.
If something happens to me, she’s the next of kin, so all assets are remanded to her.
When we got married, we just went to the county courthouse and then had a nice dinner. At the time, it was before ACA, and she was about to lose health insurance, and I had just started a big-boy corporate job with, what the kids these days call “Gucci” health insurance. So getting legally married entitled her to being covered on my plan.
People who act like I “jUsT wAnT uNcLe SaM tO BLeSs mY ReLaTiOnShiP cUz I LoVe gOvEmiNt SoOoo mUcH” are stroking their feelings being willfully ignorant of the law and the cold reality many people are hit with when they avoid getting married and then are faced with a life changing event and have no legally enforced rights.
You don't want help? You said you were staying with him and gave him all the excuses, so he didn't even need to do that. The advice is clear, you just want to see if he can give you an STD or get you pregnant before you find out you were cheated on once again because “he has needs.”
