It does. But sometimes decisions like breaking up, or moving out, or moving to the spare room, have to be done for our own mental health, and no amount of “discussion” beforehand will make a difference; it will only create another opportunity for conflict, especially if like OP said below her husband will always try to convince her to not make decisions that she thinks are good for her. It is up to the partner that is broken up with (etc.) to respect that and let their partner make that decision, not try to argue with them.
