I have ASD and ADHD. And I never hear what my partner yells in his corner of the house.
I hear just fine, in normal situations, until, there is “other noise” like background noise, a tv, kids playing, cars outside, whatever. It completely stops me from hearing the things I need to hear.
My partner has a washing machine in his kitchen and he seems to turn that damned thing on whenever we sit down for a coffee and a conversation….. it’s like “you know me for three years babe and you always do this to me.” It’s torture. The noise washing machines make are my idea of hell. And he just sits next to it and tries to talk to me….. I just can’t!
