  1. It’s better to be alone by yourself than to be lonely in a relationship.

This guy is abusive, both sexually and emotionally. You deserve better. Block him from everything, walk away and never look back. Use this time to recover and spend time with your mom. Really talk with her, hug her, and soak up her love. Then surround yourself with friends. Find a support group. Start a new hobby. Whatever you do, get this man child out of your life.

I lost my mom to cancer and it was horrible seeing her waste away. I will forever cherish every second I spent with her the last few months. Focus on yourself and her. You will not regret it. Sending lots of hugs and love.

  2. He's exactly that type.

He's also a man near 40 who dates much younger women because there's a power imbalance and he can manipulate them – such as pressuring them into having babies when they're barely out of their teens.

  3. I half-understand his reasons, but the part that I don’t understand is why he’s okay with us going around in public in any city we’ve been in, including his home city. If he wanted to keep it hidden from someone else, wouldn’t he be cautious with me in public too ? Thanks a lot for helping me think through this

  4. My bisexual ass would be cutting all of these biphobic bigots out of my life (yes, even your biphobic girlfriend). Unless they were raised in the 1950s, there's no excuse. Even my 73yo Dad is fine with bisexuality (not that I really gave him a choice, heh).

  5. circumcision is way more complicated health AND religious issue than a lot of people acknowledge.

It's pretty simple. You just don't commission a doctor (or even worse, a third party with little medical training) to put a knife to your kid's bits unless they're irreparably damaged, deformed, or dead.

  6. She sounds manipulative and borderline abusive if she’s making you feel this bad. I wouldn’t call this person a friend and definitely wouldn’t let her in my home. You should rethink this entire situation.

  7. I think if it's not 2 enthusiastic yesses, then it's a solid no. Your husbands reasoning for not wanting more children are absolutely valid. Also, there's absolutely no guarantee that if you have another, your children will be best friends. My sister hated me from the moment I was born and still hates me now. My partners siblings don't have any kind of relationship with eachother or him. And my good friend doesn't speak to her brother and hasn't for years because they simply grew into different people. You can't predict the future. What you can predict is your husband is probably serious about this, so you have a choice to stay and pour all your love and energy into your child and marriage, or you can leave to try find someone to have another kid with. Just a side note, only children tend to love being an only child. My best friend was an only child and said she couldn't have imagined her childhood any other way. You wouldn't be doing a disservice to your child by not having another.

  8. There's no such thing as “too much” self respect. Fuck this guy. He makes you feel good only when his mom isn't around. That's not enough
