Over the years I have been married, I slowly gained about 60 lbs. I did lose 70 lbs after some lifestyle changes eventually, so I weigh less now that when we first met 15 years ago. But in all that time, you know what DIDN'T change? My husband's love and care and attraction for me. No matter what weight I was, he told me I was beautiful. And even if he did find me less very hot at my highest weight, he never would have verbalized it to me, let alone to his mates. Because he has class, and he's also mature enough to understand that people change over time, and that the needle on the scale does not affect my kindness, my values, my sense of humor, or my caring heart.
Your husband is a jerk. If my husband shit-talked me to his friends, we'd be done. There's nothing more hurtful than when the ONE person who's supposed to have your back lets you down. I'm sorry this happened to you.
Why shouldn't I be? I see a lot of people(you included) defensive of the wife.
Who instigated this problem and who continues to fail in their role/responsibilities? Yet where is the vast majority of the agency placed? How many of these comments even offer the advice that was requested vs quibbling over how valid his claim is that things aren't overwhelming for the wife? Over some of his word choices? Or literally going back in time to tell him how he could have prevented this before it started. It's obnoxious and imo more than a little sexist.
This is not the guy for you. His emotional intimacy is with another woman, he's dismissive and disrespectful of you (your feelings are unnecessary? But he wants cuddles!) and he's a liar.
Ohh. No, I don't see any problem with that at all. It's their job. Would you have a problem with a female doctor?
