You could try either understanding why he’s leaving you on read- could be lots of things, sometimes you have time to look but you don’t have the time or energy to chat, sometimes it’s just that the message you’re responding to doesn’t seem urgent- or, I guess you could actually try communicating as opposed to a “cute” sarcastic remark (which, fyi- these aren’t “cute”, they’re passive aggressive & obnoxious). If it actually bothers you, just tell him that and try asking him to be more responsive.

I would tell him with zero emotion that it’s over. When you are in a partnership it’s not ok to talk shit about each other to anyone. Ever. It’s basic respect. So calmly let him know that this is a deal breaker and best wishes but you are moving on. Of course it’s ok to talk about a real issue with a friend in a loving yet honest way. But shit talk. No way.
