2. My take is that a partner supports your goals and dreams. This feels emotionally manipulative, just wrong for him to say “stay because I feel too uncomfortable renting with someone else for a year”, though I may be reading into it that is how it has been written.

5. I’m so so sorry you’re dealing with that. You’re definitely not nuts, my money is on him cheating. Even if he didn’t but “assisted” his friend by letting him use his phone to cheat (wtf, that’s a ridiculous excuse)… it still shows his true colours and that he condones that level of disloyalty and dishonesty in general. But that’s not what happen, he cheated and you deserve better.
