The way I see friendship is “people with whom you've established trust, a degree of emotional intimacy, and you enjoy spending time and having fun together”. Life isn't always this heavy. But friends ARE the people you turn to when you're really, REALLY in a bind, too. Because you HAVE established that bond and history.
