You should absolutely go travel on your own mate. “Find yourself” – that'll make you into a more well-rounded person, and when you get back you may not even want to get back together with her. Maybe you will, probably not, who knows.

And no don't give her the album. Put it away in a corner of your house and forget about it. Go on your solo trip and take a lot of pictures, then make another album. Then if you reconnect with your ex, even just as friends, when you get back, you can show her your new pictures. If you reconnect with her several years from now, after both of you have moved on, you can then show her the album you'd intended to give her.
