She doesn't see herself the way that you see her…try to explain to her that you see no weight gain. Her issues are with her mom constantly with food issues and dieting.

If he's still like this when she is here, I would seriously talk to him about it. She will definitely pick up on him not being happy about her. Surprisingly little kids are super observing on things we adults don't think they are paying attention to.
On the one hand, it was kinda wrong to almost stand you up. On the other hand, the two of you were able to communicate your feelings and emotions and were both, ultimately, able to explain your side of things. That’s actually a good sign that both of you can express yourselves. It kind of shows how, if you choose to give it another chance, how you’d be able to solve conflicts if you pursue a relationship with her. She was overthinking and almost made a stupid mistake. It happens. But she owned up to it… that also shows that she can take accountability. And both of you felt that the other didn’t want to talk, so that was a misunderstanding on both sides. Which is easily solved by getting to know each other. If you enjoy speaking to her and have similar interests and goals, than you might want to reconsider giving her another chance. If she does it again, than that just shows that she isn’t ready to be in a relationship, or it shows that she just isn’t that interested in you, and shows a pattern. And, while canceling last moment is an annoying inconvenience, you might find out that she is actually a pretty fun, good person. Remember that she’s human, and think about if you were in that position of insecurity and overthinking, wouldn’t you hope that someone would be understanding and forgiving if it’s a behavior that you don’t normally do? I can’t say that this is a red flag, as it is possible she usually doesn’t do that. It is, ultimately, up to you. But I wanted to just throw out a little of a different perspective on it, rather than just say she must be horrible.
