This was my exact thought. Your boyfriend is much older than you. It might be a nice gesture. But I doubt he’s as naive about the implications as you would be at 20. I don’t know for sure but I suspect that if you break up, your partner will get most of the custody and can claim child support from you. That doesn’t mean you wouldn’t also have parental rights. But I don’t think you need to be legally responsible for someone else’s child at 20. You can love him just fine for another 5 years and reassess later on.
