You can start by taking small things to your moms house that won’t be missed. When nobody is home is when you can make a peaceful exit. If you got the whole story from Kate, and it was truthful (doubt), then he sounds like a weirdo and don't marry him.
I will say, I almost married someone with severe mental issues. Depression and bipolar disorder are horrible, but some people project it on to their partner. She essentially ruined my life and I wasn't really able to recover from it for about 2 years after I broke it off with her. Remember there are two sides to every story, and not to cut Shaun some slack, but he might be so embarrassed by the previous marriage that he may have annulled it or just wants to forget it ever happened. It's not a good enough reason to lie about it, but being someone who has had a horrible relationship, I'm always hesitant to believe the person who seems hell bent on destroying someone. People are fucking crazy. I'm sure there's a middle ground between what Shaun and Kate told you and somewhere in there is the slightly ugly but not so bad truth.

He already knows how you feel, and he knows what he is doing. He is not too busy. He is choosing to not respond, and he doesn’t care.
No one needs to be “given another chance” when they’re not speaking to you for a week. You’re long distance. Literally all you have is communication, and he isn’t doing it. He’s being a coward and hoping you break up with him first.
