Girl I know two years sounds like a long time, the memories, the intimacy of knowing a person deeply, but it’s really not that long. You can meet someone else and you have a long life ahead of you. You can make new friends or reach out to the old ones. It will take 6 months to a year to move in fully, but be glad you got it over with now instead of in your 30s or with kids.

My bestie's ex did exactly this. First he did everything possible to avoid a divorce (too little too late), when that didn't work, he fought her at every turn, making the divorce process longer than it needed to be. Once the divorce came through, & he had to accept she was serious about not wanting him back, he moved in a new woman within 2 months, who was immediately in charge of all childcare.
What's worse is that during the divorce process, he initially agreed to have visitation with bestie's 2 older kids from a prior relationship, because “I'm the only dad they've ever known”, which everyone thought was such a sweet gesture. First, bestie's daughter decided she didn't want to go see him anymore, coz she was expected to take care of her younger brother (bestie & ex-h's kid), then bestie's older son also refused to see him, coz once his sister was away, he was expected to do all the childcare. All in all, he lasted a little under 6 months of actual single parenting before bringing in the new girlfriend. ?
