It is quite common to learn new things about someone, that should change our minds about them. Being able to accept we were wrong is necessary, likewise if reality is just cruel, we still need to take it for what it is. With love, it is especially common, to fall for someone, and stubbornly refuse to confront the reality before our eyes against our idea about them, or rather what we want them to be.
