First off I just want to point out that you guys are still only young, so don’t feel like you have to figure it out immediately or you’re time will run out.
It sounds like he’s dealing with mental health issues, maybe depression/anxiety. Some symptoms can be social isolation, mood swings, drastic highs and lows and little drive to do the things that make you happy. Obviously I’m not saying that for definite but based of those few sentences it’s possible.
It may be that he doesn’t know a better way to flirt with you when he’s sober, so tripping you or blocking your path is a way to control the situation without using his words. I’d also like to point out that whilst it may seem cute and flirty, it’s also a tactic used by perpetrators of domestic abuse so be aware this could be a red flag. It’s like that saying “if a boy pulls your hair it means he likes you”. In reality that’s not kind or fair and if a boy like you he should say so instead of using mean tricks to get attention.
Whilst you say he is smart, confident and good-looking, he may not think this way about himself, just how you doubt yourself thinking he could find someone better. Jokes aside she's caught in this never ending, attention seeking loop that we also call social media. “My friends did it too so why wouldn't I?” Is not acceptable, this has taken all the sweetness fromt intimate moments away from you just so a couple of people can see it and “like it.” This is a sign of insecurity.
