What about peak demand charges. That AC he runs at 4pm, he likes it colder than she does, that computer, coffee maker, lights he runs during those peak demand times. Often 50+% of the electric bill is peak demand for residential.

Hmm that's a tough one. We're both incredibly over each other. I don't think there is anything that he could do to make me consider getting together with him.
If he asked me to get back together, I'd tell him that ship has sailed and that it was inappropriate for him to ask that. I would still try to maintain a positive coparenting relationship for the sake of the kids, but would obviously have to reinforce some serious boundaries.

You're correct that she should treat you to dinner while she is visiting. It is a shame that she doesn't have the good manners to do it. Since she's a lousy dining partner, I guess it is no big loss.
In the future, if you want guests to help you pay your rent you need to explain it up front. You would be paying rent whether these folks visited you or not so it is not something that you can expect the average person to think to offer.
