FWIW I learned the expression with the word “better” than “easier”. The idea is that if you end up getting in trouble either way, at least if you’re asking forgiveness you got to do the thing you wanted to do. This rule has often served my well in my career. I don’t really use it much in my marriage because of course the long term relationship is much more important in that situation.

Therapist, Nurse, Social Worker and maybe a Lawyer maybe required given if they being stingy handing out the benefits of being disabled.
