The actual point was that while couples should always communicate and air out their problems, A) it is never ok to read someone's personal diary without their permission, and B) the idea behind being able to read someone's mind generally results in hurt feelings because people aren't meant, and should not, be able to have unfettered access into the minds and thoughts of others. The point was ignorance to another's thoughts is bliss because thoughts cannot be controlled like speech can. Feelings, problems, and ideas should be shared with your partner, not just any random thought that comes to mind.
