Do bear in mind that your gf may be the type of person who often gives those closest to her cash or expensive gifts so that they won't leave her. This can arise from abandonment fears and make generous people a magnet for predators & all manner of freeloaders wanting freebies or 'loans'.
She is being hit/ beaten physically and chased out of her house, that's why I am calling it abuse. She has never mentioned it as abuse
Thank you, your comment actually made me cry a little, but in a healing sort of way. flighty is a good word for her. I think she was trying to do something nice with the birthday thing but she didn’t really ask what I wanted. I will try to go into town for a coffee or something small tomorrow. I know it will feel good, I just have to get out of my head about it.
