Well you guys were already getting to know each other as friends before you started dating previously. Has she given you any indication of a timeline for this new “friendship building” activity? Because the whole “hope of developing into something more” really just makes me double down on my prior statement.
If you are only friends, you can (AND SHOULD) do whatever you want—flirt or date others, etc. As of now, she is trying to control you and keep you hanging.
How long are you comfortable just drifting along with no clear direction based on her vague “hope” that maybe someday it might be more???
We have talked about this in the past. The biggest reason we don’t have sex often is that I currently have a health condition that makes sex painful for me. I need to have surgery to fix the issue. I don’t have health insurance so I can’t afford the procedure. I try my best to have sex as often as I can, and I do try occasionally to get him off in other ways.
If you have absolutely no intentions of catching feelings and you're just using him for nice stuff, I guess it's an acceptable trade-off.
But, the thing is, him even wanting to be with somebody who was born the year he turned 16 is the red flag. He's with you for sex and his own ego. You aren't important to him for the person you are, only what it means to him to have you.
I think you should date people who are dating for the same reasons you are: to have fun and experience life. That's not why he's dating you.
