Before you get into a relationship, you should inform your partner about your history of any relationships you had with your friends, even if you don't talk or flirt to them anymore.
Or, you can choose not to give that clarity. When you're in a relationship, you can instead explain as you go. But this isn't the best option especially if you had multiple partners or guys who you flirted with in your history, because it can be off putting to hear or learn about a new person that your girlfriend/boyfriend was with or trying to get with every month, or few times a year.

For now, the growth potential isn't the relationship with him, it's exploring why you (a) chose a liar, (b) agreed to counselling, (c) are asking advice about what to do and considering giving in to him when you know you want to leave him.
Bottom line is you found out he crossed a boundary, you no longer trust him and you want to leave. That's a perfectly reasonable choice. It's OK to say no to things that don't fit with what you want.

I don't think so, tbh she told you how she wanted it and you're giving it to her that way in my mind that's very sweet you wanted to try and get as close to her dreams. Let me remind you too many people don't ever if they do get a dream proposal. So I don't think you need to do anything extra just propose in the right spot.
