You jumped into this way too fast. There should have been a longer courting phase where you could get to know and enjoy each other while maintaining separate lives. Then, if you both decide you are the ones for each other, you essentially build all of that together over time whether that's engagement, marriage, kids, house, or whatever other goals you share.
