So coming from a marriage that while we were dating we did have all of those conversations and our values aligned but some how between when we got engaged and when we had children together many of those values changed dramatically. All of a sudden when I was pregnant with our first together there was an awful lot of talk how I was going to have to accept his values and incorporate them into my parenting of our children. Here I was under the impression we had talked through our values and we were in accordance. We weren’t. He also ended up being an abusive asshat so now I have full custody of both our babies.
