Yes there is another way you should work this out. Walk out the door and don't come back. Your new partner has told you that she cant see herself learn to accept that you are friends with your ex. She isnt pretending that she will be fine with something that will actually bother and annoy her, maybe to the point of resentment. It wont be a complete surprise to you a few years down the line when she cant take it anymore.
You have been given a choise. You can stay with your gf and stop being friends with your ex. You can break up with your gf because you value the friendship too much. No one is twisting your arm, life isnt just happening to you. Your new partner have told you her terms plainly, now you can make an informed choise about wether or not you can accept them.
