Ultimately, its your call and whether or not you can on-line with this. Imagine spending the next year or so constantly suspicious, fighting about trust issues, and never enjoying the full benefits of the relationship because of this. Chances are you'll break up eventually either because of this issue or the collateral damage it causes. That sounds like an exercise in prolonged misery versus a pathway to happiness for both of you. If you can't see past this, rip the band-aid, end the relationship, resolve any residual damage as a result of this (this is more about not sabotaging future relationships because of this), and I'm sure you find someone that respects you and is honest.
Yeah the combo of that and text bombardment sounds like a manic episode or something.
Tell her she still gives you butterflies.
That way you don't have to be afraid of saying it weird or fumbling because the butterflies are causing it!

This is not about them, it is about you. You aren't over what happened and need to take time to be with yourself and heal.
Also that man is too old for you. He is trying to get you to commit VERY fast, and that's a red flag.
You need to spend time with your peers and mature along with them. Be cause you deserve time to be just you. You are worth it
