She definitely shouldn't go and should absolutely block this dude and never talk to him again, but getting an international driving license is usually pretty simple and they're valid for a year.
I’d find a way for it to be offsite, just reading OP’s situation makes me anxious and I’d never want to chance the infinite awkwardness and internal cringe I’d feel if this were me and the rug got discovered by some sheer chance.
I’d also get to work on a narrative here. Next time you are at that lady’s house you tell her, “Hey remember that old rug you had? I just remember liking that so much and wanted to see where you got it from as I’d like to try to find one and buy it”. Play up your search in coming weeks with you eventually telling her that while it’s not for sale new anymore you found a local listing of it in seemingly good condition and took the plunge.
Now you have a little disconnection from her curb, and if by dumb luck she ever makes the connection in some future trip to your apartment, you can respond with “NO WAY” and your client has a crazy story to tell her friends for the rest of her life if you have sold your reaction to her.
For a split second I read this it IS an indication that you’re not enjoying it and was about to go off ?
Thank you so much for letting me know, it saves me months of dwelling on it!
Yeah that really doesn’t make any sense

How many dates have you gone on?
I think this is an amazingly bad idea that could end with an awful living situation
It's not worth the drama is it? If it's like this now it will be in 5 years. That's just how some people are. Avoid
