The “don’t feel like driving” bit is what got me. Your partner is supposed to have your back. He doesn’t have your back. Making you drive after a 24hr shift because he “doesn’t feel like it” just proves that he has no understanding of what your day to day experiences are like.
Not overreacting, at all. Maybe ask if she would be happy if the rolls were reversed and you wanted to hangout with a woman you knew in the past. He’s a big boy and shouldn’t need to be coddled. I’ve seen too many relationship horror stories that begins like that. Why not invite him to a get together with a group of you and your partner’s friends? That should do more for the friend while also enabling you to observe.
