You would be much better off divorced and 50/50 co-parenting. Week without and week with the kids. In the week without, you can work, and have hobbies of your own. In the week with, focus on the kids, plan your work for when they're in school/daycare (if possible).

Let their (honestly useless) dad figure it out in his weeks. Don't give in, don't start arranging childcare for when they're with him. Guess he's going to have to give up bowling. So sad. Not your problem, though.
