None of OP's answers to commenters questions make any sense and are all disjointed or repetitive.
Try to stop thinking about it that way, for a few reasons:
1, you didn’t throw this away, he did. Recognizing that something is broken isn’t breaking it.
2, what’s “this” any more, anyway? You wouldn’t have started a relationship this way, and the only person who gets to decide when you’re done is you.
3, if you’re not already familiar with it, Google Sunk Cost Fallacy. It’s an eye opener.
4, remember that you’ve already been supportive. It didn’t help.
5, all the MFer has to do to keep the relationship is get a job. Any job. If getting a job is too much to ask, then…I mean that’s your ultimate answer.
He may try to throw any of these above points at you. Expect him to feel cheated out of a free ride. If he says he needs more time, you give him whatever time YOU need. Yes, very much this! Opening up a relationship is not agreeing and then never talking about it anymore. You have to figure out boundaries, and part of that is telling your partner no and your partner accepting it. If you do this the right way, an open or poly relationship really can make your relationship(s) stronger.
