As a stranger looking in, she sounds a bit homophobic. She's basically saying you don't present yourself straight enough for her friends/family, in her perspective. That will embarrass her since she'll have to answer questions or hear jokes if they're those kind of people. Sit down with her and seriously talk about it.
Yup, I'll just “cut contact” with my mother, with whom I specifically said I have a great relationship. Not one single person has offered genuine advice.
Here's a question that hopefully will get my point across to you without you feeling the need to be rude and judgmental: suppose I had gained this weight because of a medication I needed to treat another health condition. And suppose that I didn't want to tell my mom about the medication because I wanted to keep the condition private. How would you suggest getting her to stop bringing up my weight gain in this scenario?
If you matured too, you can tell them all the things you did as well and how you both weren't mature.
The political shit is where their issues mostly stand. And I can't tell if you're being honest with us either, most “kind of” conservative people get described as independent or apolitical. If he's NOTICEABLY conservative, it's probably really annoying to be around especially if you and your friends are liberals
But they can't know what they did was wrong if you sit there silently. And if they're your best friends, I wouldn't feel like someone's best friend if I didn't know they got married and I wasn't invited?
Overall, sounds like you are also pretty bad at managing your relationships and because you weren't bold, secure, and open with your choices, your friends are trying to vouch on your behalf when all these years you've been lying to them
Just come clean about everything instead of trying to make everything work. Don't be afraid to be you. If you're a friend to everyone, you're an enemy to yourself.
Gonna be honest here and say that I don’t think you were ever in a relationship with this girl. Y’all casually dated and met up a few times and from there it was all live!. The lack of communication and effort on her end signifies to me that you were a place holder for her. Someone to give her positive attention and make her feel good about herself all while keeping her options open for someone “better”

Have you considered therapy OP?

It would have to be pretty significant to be not a bother but a concern.
