Make a plan and follow the plan.
Get your personal documents (passport, birth certificate, etc.) out of the house. Start shifting some of your clothing etc out of the house. Ideally when you drop the 'I want a divorce', HE will move out, not you, but if he's a threat to you or you feel unsafe, you want to be prepared to walk out the door and know you have some things stashed elsewhere.
Talk to a divorce attorney about what your options are. Lock down your credit. Open your own bank account only in your name. Look at your joint financials and print out statements. Do not, DO NOT buy a house with him. Do not DO NOT get pregnant.
On finding an attorney, ask around for a reference. Look up the Bar Association of your state or county, and you can search for divorce or family law attorneys. Most attorneys will do a consult for a reasonable fee. You are just gathering information at this point.
