Sounds a little tricky to be his fwb and his roommate living with him, all without dating him. What happens when either of you date people? It might be awkward if you/he have to hide the fact that you casually fuck your roommate. Might work out fine and you'll get independence, just need to be prepared if things don't work out with him or dating becomes awkward. You've been staying with him so at least you know a bit about living together, some people make bad roommates. Would your parents let you come back home if you need to?
