From one U.K. guy to another I just want to say I get how tough it is currently to survive with the CoL increase that’s going on with that salary. I may get downvoted for this but unfortunately your wife either needs to sort out her maintenance loan for her education (she should be entitled to more as you’re married) and use it more wisely or she needs to get a job.
£22k pa is quite simply not enough for 99% of families to survive on as a joint income, especially in one of the major cities. She needs to get a job or you need to pickup another job if you both want this to work. You’re going to have no security for if something goes wrong with your current wage. That isn’t me putting you down they’re just the facts and your wife should be understanding of that considering you can’t afford the dentist or the opticians right now.
I get her studies are important but that is what her maintenance loan should be covering. What exactly is this being used for? Could you move to somewhere cheaper? Your council tax is also ludicrous at £250, that surely must be an error?

I've heard/read here about most couples breaking up before or during college so they can properly enjoy college life and gain experiences. Some of them get back together after, others don't. There are also some couples who continue to be in a relationship throughout college, and either disregard/ignore the things that they do, or they end up not engaging in such things at all.
How much do you want to be with her? There is a good chance that eventually she may get too busy with sorority stuff and may end up being asked out by someone else. It really all comes down to how much the two of you want each other. If you want to give it your all, you can try to continue but your concerns will probably eat you up inside, irrespective of whether she actually does something or not and you'll fight and break up. Or, you end things now, not knowing whether it would have actually worked out or not.

No problem, I can completely understand the place you're in. I also had a whole plan and everything. But there really is so much to be said about finding yourself as an adult in this world before entering a marriage. When you're married you have to know who you are and how to be on your own before committing to a person, for your own sake and for the sale of your spouse and any potential children. I really hope that you can try to look at these comments and see that these people are actually offering pretty sage advice from a place of care. I bet you're wonderful and I think you should get to know yourself first
Forget planning, call your doctor today, and explain wht is going on. Once you feel better, tell him that you are tired of him comparing whatever ailments he has to whst you're experiencing and that you want to go to therapy.
