Thank you for the response. I don’t think my brother would ever call my partner harmful things to their face or behind their back. It was his wife who sent the video insinuating such. He seems to be ignorant and not hateful. He’s talked with me about how he understands that what my partner is going through is very real and doesn’t dismiss that my partners dysphoria is real- he just thinks god is the answer and not HRT. My partner and brother are both VERY aware of what my boundaries are and that I will not tolerate hate or consistent and uncorrected dismissive behavior. My partner still chooses to ask about the family, I just hope it’s out of genuine curiosity and not for my sake. I also am just struggling on how to be honest without hurting them. I almost feel like the reality is that it’s just going to be painful for everyone. My partner will feel outcasted by my brother (even if I cut him off) unless he changes, I will feel disappointed in my brother, and my brother will be hurt if I cut him off.
