My mum (65f) is turning the room she had for her grandchild (1m) into a gym.

A little over a year ago I (36f) had my first child. This is also my mother's (65f) first and possibly only grandchild, as I'm an only child and we don't know if we'd have another. She had been pushing for a grandchild for ages and was super excited when we got pregnant, so I honestly thought she was going to be a really involved grandma.

Since my son has arrived though she's just not that interested… She was supposed to have him one day a week, but has withdrawn that offer. And I found out last week that she'd bought and setup a kid's bed in their spare room, which she's now getting rid of to turn the room into a gym.

When I found out about the bed it just broke me. I don't know if I'm overreacting but it feels like rejection. Hubby (40m) was thinking of talking to my dad (61m) about it but I'm not sure there is any point. She has the habit of making herself the victim of any situation and blaming bad behaviour on her mental health as if that excuses it.

Just not really sure on a way forward. Should I be upset about the bed? Do I let hubby talk with dad? Or do I take it as a sign to keep her at arm's length?
