YEP. I had one too only the age gap went the other way. I was 35, he was 25, and we were both on drugs really bad. He would act all nice and polite and appear to be enjoying himself when his friends were around but was a surly asshole when it was just the two of us. There was always a reason to start a huge fight/meltdown about absolutely nothing, a shitty attitude, perpetual chip on his shoulder…basically a miserable little bastard. This was 8 years ago. I have 5 years sober and am very happily married to a wonderful man my own age. Last I heard, he has blown all his veins out and is miserably trying to get off snorting heroin except he can’t anymore and is living with a recently widowed 55 year old at the age of 33 who has two prison numbers and a meth addiction.
