I was a teenager when Facebook blew up and everyone documented every aspect of their relationship on Facebook, later Instagram. “this is the love of my life”, 2 days later “X has changed their relationship status to single”, “y is in a relationship with someone else”. I remember friends after break ups revealing the relationship was unhappy, unfaithful, incompatible, even abuse, and then being shocked their commitment to the 'couples goal' social media image meant everyone struggled to believe their relationship wasn't perfect.
Maybe this girl is one of those people who learned from experience or even observation that it's nice to be present in your relationship. It's nice not to have people commenting on your relationship. Sharing stuff on social media that doesn't matter – like your breakfast- is different from sharing a loved one.
