This may sound harsh. It might be a cultural difference. In my culture people GENERALLY don’t get married until after 3/5 years of dating. By then you fully know your partner through and through. You’ll know how they react to bad news, losses, money arguments, differences in religion, if any, you’ll know – if this is actually my life partner? Or is it more fun ? to get married within a year or two of dating and just rely on “love” and not doing any of the “work” it requires to build a beautiful partnership.
I don't think that's a stupid fight because, it shows you don't trust him and that's not a small deal. Is this the first time you ask him to prove you where he was at?
