Understandable, I agree with most of the commenters here that maybe things are going a bit fast OP, my personal take on this is to really test the waters with that musician and prioritizing yourself and your kids above anything else. Do you see this man as someone who could take care of your children and help you build your home? Or do you see this man as someone who came in and swept you off of your feet and when the time comes, he’ll move on to the next singer he’s interested in? Best of luck OP.

You need to stop & think about this. Is he going to continue to harass you? Because if it stops at that one time, what good would it do for her to know her father had nasty thoughts? All of us don't have a great relationship with them, but mine is really bad ever since I had my daughter. They still tolerate my brother and my sister because “there is hope” for them.
As for the why, it's because they're abusive & they always have been all my life. I'm the oldest, so I always got it the worst but they're not really physical with it anymore for any of us so for my sister it was mainly emotional and verbal without much physical. It's all so normalized in our culture, but it's seriously fucked up what I've had to endure from them and I just can't do it anymore.
