I'd say as a naked and fast general rule it's definitely a two way street.
Your most important answer you need to hear to the question of “how will he act with children” is this: he will treat them the same or worse, because children have emotions and express themselves. He is not even close to capable of handling children if this minor of a thing, such as being caring towards cats, is a problem. Also, he can’t even be a team player. He won’t help, he didn’t listen to you with the slow introductions, and he’s clearly unreceptive to feedback. So with kids, he’s just gonna be that father who ignores the kid and expects you to do everything. And believe me… he will not be around much to help you with a damn thing.
At that point I was just looking to get off I didn’t really care to notice how after only a couple days of talking to a rando there were nudes exchanged, thought maybe they were just trying to get off too. There could be many reasons.
Maybe they find it relaxing and she is friendly, enjoyable company.
Maybe she's very close to them, and that's the main time they hang out.
Maybe she organizes the hangouts.
My point is that seeking this information out first kind of pushes you to see your gf and her friend as people rather than obstacles.

It's wrong to overstep as you did. It's none of your business, if she had been cheating I could understand some sympathy and maybe bending that rule but you just messed with them. Them as in both of them who were happy up until you butted in.
Everybody needs to be a little bit more flexible here. You don't get everything you want all the time. You need to make it plain that you're never going back to your ex. Your boyfriend needs to chill about you having a boyfriend and his things are there, and your ex needs to chill about the whole thing. This is all useless drama.
