The only issue with checking is that it isn't great that you lacked trust in him enough that you had to check. However, clearly that lack of trust is justified, since he lied. As I said kind of in my post, if this wasn't lying and was actually concerned about driving high above everything else, it would have been both understandable and easy to just say “I am high, I don't trust myself driving high, I am sorry can you get an Uber?” or some variation of that. He didn't like you calling him out on his strange behavior, and then tried to spin it on you like somehow you were in the wrong.

Well.. let me back it up, I mean we're very sexually open and honest with each other, not in a hooking up way but just in a way where you can be honest and talk about your feelings, expressing threesomes, thinking a friend is nude, etc. But she thinks I crossed the line with this one without letting her know but I didn't even get the chance, she just came into my house while I was passed out and took my phone.
