He may be autistic, he may not be. But if that's why he's doing it, then no one showed him right from wrong or he didn't bother to learn. Based on OPs comments I think he's doing this knowingly and maliciously.
“He said…he meant it in a loving way” Where is the loving part of threatening to rape someone… Regardless I don't believe for a second this was a joke. If you'd responded with any interest he would have doubled down and been completely serious. Now that he knows you're not into it he's pretending he was joking when what he really was doing was trying to push your boundaries and see what he can get away with. That was also the goal with him trying to do it while you were sleeping. He sounds like a rapist waiting to happen. Having a high libido doesn't excuse sexual assault and you shouldn't let him make this seem normal to you.
