So it strikes me that you walk away from this acknowledging he was icky and sucked and it was not great but at the very least with some interesting insights and a clearer view of aspects of yourself and potentially some things to work on moving forwards. That's about as positive an outcome as you can hope for especially as in the long term you will be strong for it.
