You are not wrong – there is something off about this situation. I would talk to her about your feelings and ask why her co-worker thinks you shouldn’t be there. Also inquire as to why she would listen to them. There is no excuse for this behavior.
If she deflects, doesn’t answer, or doubles down on you NOT going then I would start to check her phone.
