Trauma isn’t an excuse to be unhinged and have extreme views. It’s gross that people use mental illness and trauma as a get-out-of-jail-free card. I have mental illness and trauma, it may explain but it doesn’t excuse my unhealthy actions and behaviors. People are allowed to not want to be around me if I display unhealthy actions/behaviors/views due to my mental illness and trauma. And to be frank it’s a disservice to me if my loved ones were to excuse and dismiss when I do something unhealthy or toxic. Calling in people is how we help them grow and be better. Sorry nuance is lost on you.

A fundamental part of a healthy relationship is conflict resolution. People’s true character is shown during naked times. And your husband has consistently shown that he is unpredictable, manipulative and unreliable over the years.
