I was on and off of my 6.5 relationship with my ex. It was abusive in many forms, and I felt stuck every time and thru the whole relationship. I finally broke up with him and I never felt better, and I 10000% know it was the best choice I could’ve made for myself. You will be ok.
If you started having sex at 18 then 20 men would average out to be two men per year for ten years. That is not unreasonable at ALL for someone who is dating. Back when I was single, I was always dating, or open to dating and personally had a policy where I’d wait for 4-5 dates before sleeping with someone. Usually you’d have one date per week so in theory it could have been completely reasonable for me to have slept with up to 12 people a year for my 10 single years. That’s 120 men. Obviously that assumes every date made it to that point and I also had a couple multi-year relationships sprinkled in, so I dont think I was all that active but I dated and had fun and I feel I did so in a way where I respected myself. I am now 39 and have been with my husband for ten years. I dont remember how many people I’ve slept with because it really doesn’t matter and it’s not anyone’s business.

You're teaching this kid that threats of violence get him what he wants. And every time you do it, you reinforce that position more and more. OP – mom here. I fail to see how all the financials should be your problem. What would she do if you didn’t online together to afford to on-line and go to school? She should do this and contribute.
She could get student loans for living expenses potentially. She could work at the same time and contribute. My daughter is a little younger than you. Currently she’s working full time AND getting her Master’s. Basically your gf’s expectation to do a masters and not have to work? It’s honestly ridiculous. Very very few people have “not working while in school for an advanced degree” as even a possibility. Those with rich parents. That’s not her.

You’re absolutely right. I am a political science grad and read about politics all the time. If you went to CNN website right now there’s probably 40 or so headlines on the main page. I’d wager 99% of them are negative. These news networks work off profits so they show what people think they want to hear. But it’s all negative and depressing.
There’s a lot of good that happens in the world, but the news doesn’t report on it.
Just tell him to stop talking about it all the time. You don’t mind hearing the occasional thing but to be drowned in negativity is annoying when mental health is a real thing.
He either respects your wishes or he doesn’t. If he doesn’t, just walk away from him. You don’t have to turn miserable but just show him you aren’t going to play that game.
